VISA

1. Determine Visa Type

Most attendees will need a Schengen visa for short stays (Type C), which allows travel within the Schengen Area, including Switzerland, for up to 90 days within a 180-day period.

2. Check Eligibility

Ensure you meet the basic criteria for a Schengen visa, such as having a valid Vietnamese passport with at least two blank pages and being in good health with no criminal record.

3. Prepare Required Documents

Gather all necessary documents, which typically include:

  • A completed and signed visa application form.

  • A valid passport and copies of previous visas (if any).

  • Two recent passport-sized photos.

  • Travel medical insurance covering at least €30,000 within the Schengen area.

  • A cover letter stating the purpose of your visit to Switzerland and itinerary.

  • Flight itinerary with dates and flight numbers specifying entry and exit from Switzerland.

  • Proof of accommodation for the entire stay in Switzerland.

  • Proof of civil status (marriage certificate, birth certificate of children, death certificate of spouse, if applicable).

  • Proof of sufficient financial means for the period of stay.

  • An official invitation letter from the Swiss-Viet Economic Forum event organizers detailing the nature of the event, your participation, and any other relevant information.

4. Book an Appointment

Schedule an appointment with the Swiss embassy or consulate in Vietnam or a visa application center authorized by the Swiss government. It's advisable to book this appointment well in advance of your travel date, as slots can fill up quickly.

5. Attend the Visa Interview

Attend the scheduled appointment with all your prepared documents. Be on time and dress appropriately. The interview is a standard procedure to verify your documents and intentions for visiting Switzerland.

6. Pay the Visa Fee

Pay the visa application fee, which is generally non-refundable. Ensure you have the correct amount and payment method as per the embassy's requirements.

7. Track Your Application

After the interview, you can track the status of your visa application through the embassy's online system or as advised by the embassy staff.

8. Collect Your Passport

Once your visa is approved, you will be notified about the passport collection process. Ensure to check your visa details for any errors.

Tips for a Smooth Visa Application Process:

  • Start Early: Begin your application process well ahead of the planned travel date to accommodate any unforeseen delays.

  • Ensure Accuracy: Double-check all your documents and the application form for accuracy to avoid any potential delays or rejections.

  • Follow Guidelines: Adhere strictly to the guidelines provided by the Swiss embassy or consulate, including document specifications and appointment protocols.

Remember, each visa application is unique, and requirements can change. Always refer to the official Swiss Embassy or Consulate website in Vietnam for the most current information and detailed instructions.
